Background
Hi, I'm Dylan. I'm a creative director who likes to put together great digital and integrated advertising programs.
When I was growing up in Albuquerque, my family used to get together to watch Thirty-Something. Remember that show? Apparently it could be kind-of a downer. But I never saw that. All I cared about was that the two dads seemed to have a pretty cool job (they were an art director/writer team). And although their boss was an ass (wasn't he? or did I make that up?) and they seemed to always be stressed out, I couldn't believe that cool, creative jobs like theirs actually existed (they didn't exist in Albuquerque, that's for sure). So, starting in 9th grade I knew I wanted to be in advertising.
Since then, I've been a Creative Director for big and small ad agencies and publishers working directly with their brand clients. My work has always focused more on finding ways to engage with audiences instead of "interrupting" them. And developing brand programs that people find truly entertaining, useful, just plain cool or a little bit of all these things is what I get excited about. I love the challenge of bringing simplicity to the usually complex structure of cross-media campaign work. And, most of all, I love it when an audience likes the ad programs as much as the 'content' that surrounds them.
I was born in Colorado, grew up in New Mexico (as I said) and now live in San Francisco (and New York a lot more these days). I spend way too much time running Mission Cycling and longing for meatball sandwiches at Mario's.
